The moment I almost didn’t start my YouTube channel
I almost talked myself out of starting my channel.
Not because I didn’t believe in what I had to share…
But because it already felt like everyone else was doing it.

I remember looking at the other security and smart home tech channels on YouTube and thinking:
“Do we really need another one of these?”
There were already tons of creators: survivalists, tech guys, gear reviewers. All talking shop. Loud. Confident. Expert-y.
And then there was me.
Not a prepper. Not a tech bro.
Just a professional woman, a mom, a dealer who knew this stuff; and wanted to actually help people. Especially the women, parents, and grandparents no one was really talking to.
I wasn’t like them.
And at first, I thought that was a problem.
But it turns out, that was the whole point.
That difference became my lane.
And that lane became my community.
So if you’ve been holding back — if you’ve wondered whether there’s still room for your voice — I get it. That fear is real.
But I promise you this: the niche isn’t too crowded.
Your voice just hasn’t been heard yet.
Your perspective isn’t a liability — it’s your edge.
